MSDS is the abbreviation for Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). This is a technical document which provides detailed and comprehensive information on a product, often (but not exclusively) chemical in nature. The document advises whether or not the product is classified as hazardous for transport, what to do in case of spillage, etc. Shipping lines and airlines usually require this document in order to ascertain whether or not they can accept the product for shipment.
